Frequently Asked Questions
While Red Light Therapy is generally considered safe for most people, it is recommended to take precautions to protect the eyes from any potential damage. We suggest wearing appropriate eye protection and avoiding direct eye exposure to the light source. It is not damaging to yours or your pets eyes - so no need to fear if you stare into device (although we wouldn't suggest you need to stare into the light for long to feel uncomfortable, it's almost like looking into the Sun - it will be uncomfortable).
It is also important to consult with a healthcare professional before using Red Light Therapy if you have any medical conditions or use any medications or medical devices.
There are no set rules on how much light to use. Too much light may damage skin tissue, but too little might not work as well. We suggest using it everyday on area's you want to see improvement - 30 minutes a day per area is the maximum we would recommend.
We always suggest the 'sweet spot' of somewhere between 15-20 minutes per area.

Yes, all our devices have both red and near infrared(nir) wavelengths.
Red Light (600nm-800nm)
Red light is absorbed mostly through the skin tissue. It is commonly used to improve skin health, promote healing, and stimulate collagen production. This benefits skin texture and tone, smoothing fine wrinkles and generally rejuvenating the appearance of the skin. It penetrates the skin to a depth of about 5-6 millimeters. This wavelength is commonly used in Red Light Therapy for skin-related issues, such as reducing wrinkles and improving skin texture.
Near-Infrared Light (800nm-1000nm)
Near-infrared light wavelength is invisible to the naked eye and penetrates deeper into the cells. It is used to assist with healing deep wounds, muscle aches, nerve injuries, or joint pain. It penetrates the skin to a depth of about 20-30 millimeters. This wavelength is commonly used in Red Light Therapy for deeper tissue-related issues, such as reducing inflammation and relieving pain in muscles and joints.
Desired Recommended (Combination of both wavelengths)
By using a Red Light Therapy device that uses a combination of both wavelengths, you can experience enhanced benefits of both types of light therapy. This can lead to a more comprehensive treatment that improves the superficial and deeper layers of the body. Some studies suggest that combining different wavelengths of light can have a synergistic effect, known as the "photochemical effect," which occurs when different wavelengths of light work together to enhance cellular energy production and promote healing in the body.
